Here’s a proper slice of British blues rock history that deserves serious consideration from any collector worth their salt. Ten Years After’s third album “Ssssh.” captures Alvin Lee and company at their absolute peak, recorded just months before their legendary Woodstock performance would catapult them to international stardom. This 1969 Deram pressing represents the band’s most focused studio effort, showcasing Lee’s blistering guitar work and the tight rhythm section that made them festival favorites across Europe. The album features some of their most enduring compositions, including “Good Morning Little Schoolgirl” and “If You Should Love Me,” tracks that demonstrate their ability to balance raw blues power with sophisticated songcraft.
