Condition

This Canadian Monument pressing of Roy Orbison’s first Greatest Hits compilation captures the Big O at his absolute peak, showcasing the remarkable vocal range and emotional intensity that made him one of rock’s most distinctive voices. Released in 1962, this collection arrived just as Orbison was transitioning from his rockabilly roots into the operatic pop ballads that would define his legacy. The album features essential tracks like “Only the Lonely,” “Blue Angel,” and “Running Scared,” all recorded during his golden period with Monument Records when producer Fred Foster gave Orbison the creative freedom to develop his signature sound of soaring melodies over dramatic orchestral arrangements.
