The great David Lynch achieved worldwide fame as a filmmaker, but his lifelong passion for music has produced work every bit as surreal as his films. Throughout Lynch’s films and series, music often marks the crossing of a threshold into some strange, alternate reality. From Mulholland Drive to Blue Velvet and Twin Peaks, Lynch’s greatest works blend surreal mystery with haunting beauty, creating worlds that linger long after the screen fades to black. All of his works reveal a keen ear for unusual, evocative musical choices. Presented here are 17 songs that Lynch used in his most iconic films.
