Howard Blake’s “The Snowman / The Story Of The Snowman” is the 1983 soundtrack and audiobook release based on Raymond Briggs’ beloved children’s book and the subsequent animated film. Blake composed the music for the television special, creating a gentle orchestral score that perfectly complements the wordless story of a boy and his magical snowman. The album features the now-classic song “Walking in the Air,” which became synonymous with Christmas television and helped establish the work as a seasonal favorite across multiple generations.
