Here’s a fascinating piece of Canadian pressing history that showcases Edith Piaf during one of her most prolific periods. “Le Ballet Des Coeurs” captures the Little Sparrow at the height of her emotional range in 1959, just as she was cementing her status as France’s most beloved chanson interpreter. This Path pressing represents the label’s commitment to bringing Piaf’s intimate vocal style to North American audiences during the late ’50s cultural exchange period, when French chanson was finding new appreciation among collectors and jazz enthusiasts across the Atlantic.
